Still on the diet . . .

Just a few days from entering the third week of this intermittent fasting trial. It’s been interesting. I was going for an 18-6 eating pattern, but I’m down to more like 22-2. I just don’t get hungry, which is really a surprise. My stomach was upset for a while, and I think I was overdoing it on supplementary electrolytes. I’m not getting on the scale, just judging progress by clothes. I’m now having to use another belt hole to keep my pants up, and that’s a good feeling. I’d say the only real negative has been that it makes my social life a little more boring. It’s certainly not as much fun to sit at a restaurant watching other people eat while I don’t, and I’ve found myself in that situation a few times. But one of my banes has been boredom eating, and the desire not to do that has been one of the most heartening surprises about this experiment. The one vice I haven’t given up is Coke Zero, which doesn’t seem to be slowing my progress but isn’t doing many any favors either. Oh well, baby steps.
